Originally known as Canal Farm and then Canal Farm Inn, España’s Southwest Bar and Grill is a canal and ranching headquarters turned Mexican and Southwestern restaurant. The family-owned and operated establishment has been cooking up mouthwatering cuisine for more than 50 years. It is part of the famous Canal Farm Inn which was the original San Joaquin Valley Ranch headquarters of California pioneer cattle baron Henry Miller which was established in 1873 and is a historic landmark.
Al-fresco Dining
The restaurant has the look and feel of a traditional Spanish cantina. The interior features typical southwestern design and has a traditional hearth oven. Overall decor has a Mexican flair and the menu specializes in Spanish cuisine. The large outdoor patio features lightly painted adobe walls decorated with colorful tiles and topped with red bricks. The outdoor floor is made of earth colored Spanish tiles which go well with the light pink colored walls and the red Spanish tile roof. A large Spanish colonial style fountain which is used as a planter for native Southwest plants is the patio centerpiece.
Michael Amabile, the owner of Espana’s Southwest Bar and Grill contacted us when the time came to refurbish the patio area, ordering patio chairs and tables to accentuate the southwest look. For the chairs, he ordered aluminum rust colored patio arm chairs which come with faux teak slats in natural finish. Their durability and the rust color frame go well with the bricks and earth colored floor tiles and are a perfect choice for the location.
The aluminum patio tables in rust color finish with faux teak slats are a perfect match to the patio arm chairs and with the Spanish themed décor creating a cohesive look for the patio. The tables come with a hole in the center for umbrellas, providing much appreciated shade to guests while dining al fresco.
Sunset colored outdoor umbrellas also match the rust-colored patio tables and chairs. They not only provide shelter from the sun and the elements, they also give the patio a fashionable look. The sunset color also goes well with the entrance canopy and the overall outdoor decor.
