Situated in the heart of downtown Cleveland, Primo African Cuisine adds to the cultural diversity of the city. The restaurant serves authentic African dishes such as Thieboudienne, a traditional West African dish that is the national dish of Senegal which is made with mixed vegetables and is prepared with fish, rice and tomato sauce cooked in one pot. They also offer many other traditional African meat and seafood dishes. Since their grand opening, Primo has quickly become a hot spot for locals and tourists alike as the downtown area has been experiencing an economic revival thanks to the city’s urban renewal project.
High-end Urban Design
Primo has a unique industrial interior design with an African twist. The walls have wood frame designs that resemble abstract African art and are painted in a rustic earth tone. The hardwood floors have a natural finish that resembles the bark of the sycamore fig tree native to the continent. Exposed ductwork, also painted in earth tones adds to the industrial look. The restaurant also has a bar made of solid wood where customers can sit and enjoy a cocktail. The restaurant gives guests a taste of African culture and cuisine in an upscale setting.
The owner of Primo contacted us to supply her new restaurant with seating. For seating in the main dining area, she went with elongated vertical back metal chairs in a black frame finish and comfortable padded seats in brushed aluminum gold vinyl that resembles a soft, glowing African sunset. The black frame finish is an ideal contrast to the brushed aluminum gold. The elongated frame, has a simple elegance that gives the restaurant grace, while still embracing the restaurant’s African spirit.
For bar seating, Primo chose matching elongated vertical back metal bar stools also with black frames and brushed aluminum gold. The bar stools are designed for style and built for comfort, combined with the matching chairs they create a cohesive look. The bar stools brushed aluminum gold finish flow nicely with the natural wood bar and the overall African inspired decor. The classic style of the bar stools complements the overall decor adding grace to the urban theme.
Made for Comfort and Luxury
Additional seating along the perimeter of the restaurant's walls is served by button tufted back booths in brushed aluminum gold to match the chairs and bar stools. The deluxe booths give the restaurant a prestigious look while blending in with the African safari ambiance. The booths which are made in the USA by skilled craftsmen are a great way for guests to enjoy an intimate meal in privacy and have the added advantage of maximizing floor space.
